Hi everyone in Room18. I’m in Auckland with Ms H at the ULearn07 Conference which is all about Personalising Learning in a Digital World.

It was a long drive up here and Ms H did very well to keep driving on the road as we got into Auckland City. It was raining soooooooo hard I couldn’t see the road so I don’t know how well Ms H could see it! We went for a walk to explore the Sky Tower and Sky Conference Centre before ULearn07 started - if you look closely, that’s me on the podium where the keynote speakers speak! kawekakea_mainpodium_upclose

Doesn’t the sky tower look fabulous all lit up in pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month too? skytower at nightDidn’t Ms H take a fantastic photo?

Kawekakea meets AllanahK from Appleby School

Today I got to meet Allanah K from Appleby School (You know, Mini-Dylan’s “mum”). I going to meet up with Mini-Dylan tomorrow and I’m very excited about that! I also visited the Sitech Stand to say hello to Jenny and Gary and to see what cool new stuff they have for us to try out next.

Can you see me in all that yellow?? kawekakea_ulearn07 002

Ms H has been learning some more things about UMAJIN and is bringing back a new, better version to use in the classroom. She’s got a demo of Inspiration to let you all have a go with and compare with Freemind. I went with her to a really good presentation on Inquiry Learning this afternoon and I have to say that she has learnt a few tips to help put the fun back into our Inquiry Unit.
